VIC 아티스트 카코포니(cacophony) 프로젝트팀 '문소문', 음악극 <낭만을 빌려주는 노인> 성황리 종료
VIC 아티스트 카코포니(cacophony)의 프로젝트팀 문소문(moonsomoon)이 아르코예술극장에서 선보인 음악극 <낭만을 빌려주는 노인>이 관객들의 호응 속에 성황리에 막을 내렸습니다.
한국문화예술위원회 공연예술창작산실의 ‘올해의 신작’에 선정되어 제작된 이번 공연의 기획과 연출을 맡은 카코포니(cacophony)는 차가운 금속의 질감과 인간적인 숨결이 공존하는 사운드로 문소문만의 음악적 세계를 깊이 있게 구현했으며, 음악과 영상 등 무대 요소를 하나의 흐름으로 이끌어내며 아티스트로서의 음악적 방향성과 연출 역량을 보여준 자리였습니다.
음악극 <낭만을 빌려주는 노인>은 문소문(moonsomoon)의 2집과 서이제 작가의 동명 소설 세계관을 바탕으로 창작되었으며, ‘기술적 완성의 시대에 불완전한 인간이 남긴 질문’을 주제로 일렉트로닉 사운드와 밴드, 10인 오케스트라, 미디어아트가 결합된 무대를 선보였습니다.
문소문(moonsomoon)은 공연을 통해 다음과 같은 메시지를 전했습니다.
“지금 이 사회를 살아가며 자의식의 희미함을 느껴본 적이 있는 관객 여러분, 문소문과 함께 다이얼을 돌려 미래의 노인으로부터 빌려올 낭만의 예언을 직접 기록해 주시길 바랍니다. 이 예언이 여러분으로 하여금 삶을 주체적으로 항해하게 하는 소문이 되어, 당신의 시간 속에 깊이 각인되길 기대합니다.”
VIC는 소속 아티스트 카코포니(cacophony)의 이번 활동을 알리며, 앞으로도 다양한 방식으로 이어질 음악적 행보를 지속적으로 전할 예정입니다.

The musical drama <The Old Man Who Lends Romance>, presented by VIC artist Cacophony’s project team Moonsomoon at the Arko Arts Theater, has successfully concluded to enthusiastic audience response.
Selected as the “New Work of the Year” by the Korea Arts Council’s Performing Arts Creation Center, this production was planned and directed by Cacophony. Through a soundscape where the cold texture of metal coexists with the warmth of human breath, Cacophony deeply embodied Moonsomoon’s unique musical universe. The performance served as a showcase of the artist’s musical vision and directing prowess, seamlessly weaving together stage elements such as music and video into a single cohesive flow.
The music theater production <The Old Man Who Lends Romance> was created based on Moonsomoon’s second album and the worldview of the novel of the same name by author Seo Ijae. Centered on the theme of “questions left behind by imperfect humans in an era of technical perfection,” the production presented a stage that combined electronic sounds, a band, a 10-piece orchestra, and media art.
Through the performance, moonsomoon conveyed the following message :
“To all audience members who have ever felt a sense of fading self-awareness while living in today’s society, I invite you to turn the dial with moonsomoon and personally record the prophecy of romance borrowed from the elderly of the future. I hope this prophecy becomes a whisper that empowers you to navigate life on your own terms, and that it remains deeply etched in your time.”
VIC announced this activity by its artist cacophony and plans to continue sharing updates on their musical journey, which will unfold in various ways moving forward.
